Jared (he/him) is a Denver-based, Mexican-American artist studying photography at MSU Denver. His work is centered on portraiture and draws inspiration from his own life events, pop culture, and early 2010’s tumblr aesthetics. Through dreamlike photographs, he reimagines his human experience from a deeply emotional perspective.

Jared is pursuing a BFA in interdisciplinary studio arts, currently exploring wheel-throwing ceramics as a new means for storytelling.

Artist Philosophy

My art is introspective by nature, always turning inward to explore the way I interpret life. Through photographs staged to evoke a sense of nostalgic familiarity, and ceramic objects that celebrate imperfection and chance, I romanticize the perspective through which I experience the world.

In a time where we’re told that our existence might be meaningless, I find that searching for significance in the everyday nurtures the soul. I don’t see events as random; everything, joyful or painful, feels meant to be. To find peace within that belief, I create meaning — stories that help me understand why things happen. I see each moment as an unnegotiable part of a larger narrative. Through my work, I try to express the belief that finding wonder in life is a form of liberation.

I’m comforted by the unavoidable. My practice explores deeply personal, yet universal, experiences of guilt, shame, and frustration, now seen through a softer, more forgiving lens. I create from a place of love for my past self who endured them. Each piece channels memory, emotion, and reflection — not for resolution, but to honor what it means to be human. Vulnerability is my bridge to the world. In showing up honestly, I hope to inspire others to look at their lives with the same tenderness and curiosity.

Throughout my creative process, my intention is to reveal beauty in what’s overlooked. I want my work to resonate with those who, like me, long to make peace with life’s unpredictability — not by understanding it, but by embracing it.
